Remit Training and RHA Skills are joining forces to tackle the growing technician shortage across the UK’s road transport sector.
This partnership sees us supporting RHA Skills with automotive apprenticeships and technical training tailored to van and truck fleets. The collaboration follows industry-wide feedback highlighting the urgent need for the recruitment and development of the next generation of vehicle technicians.
Through this partnership, logistics employers and training providers can access a pre-screened pool of over 400 high-potential candidates for HGV/PSV technician apprenticeships, with more than 100 available for light commercial vehicles.
Employers can also choose to outsource both apprenticeship and adult technical training delivery to Remit Training, which has been rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted and is widely recognised as one of the UK’s leading automotive training providers.
We support employers of all sizes nationwide, offering block-release training delivered at its state-of-the-art automotive academies in Derby and Motherwell.
Adult technical training includes EV and hydrogen vehicle systems, ADAS, F-Gas, IRTEC, and Light to Heavy Vehicle upskilling. This service is available to everyone, from new entrants into the sector to established businesses seeking to grow their team or upskill staff.
“We are honoured to partner with RHA Skills. For 80 years, the RHA has been at the forefront of skills development in the road transport sector, and we are proud to contribute to addressing the need for high-quality technicians.
At Remit Training, we are pioneering new ways to engage young people through platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and job apps, ensuring they understand the exciting career opportunities in automotive and logistics. We are proud to support highly motivated, diverse candidates, both male and female, who are eager to build a future in haulage.”
“Our members have made it clear that the skills gap in technical vehicle roles is a significant barrier to growth across road transport and logistics. This strategic partnership with Remit Training is a direct response to that challenge.
By partnering with a provider who understands our sector, we are strengthening the pathway into technician roles at a national level. This is part of a broader strategy to reshape how we attract, develop, and retain talent, placing modern skills development at the heart of a more productive, sustainable, and future-ready transport workforce.”
