MI/BI Reports Developer

Purpose of Role

The main focus of the MI/BI Administrator will be to support MI Reports Team in maintaining the integrity of data, reports, and other methods of information distribution (such as Power BI), for Remit and external clients. 

Main Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Accountable to the MI Reporting Manager you will be supporting the MI Reports Team by fielding day to day enquiries from colleagues about reports and their functionality along with 1st line troubleshooting of errors.

Along with this you will be expected to carry out routine tasks and housekeeping such as checking/assigning permissions and help migrate changes/amendments through existing report and/or dashboards.

You may, depending on workloads, be asked to author simple reports.

The role requires an understanding of the T-SQL fundamentals whereby you can read a query and understand how the statement extracts and manipulates data from more than one table or sub-query

Any experience of Power BI (or similar) is advantageous but not essential

This role is ideal for someone who has recently started using SQL and is looking for further their knowledge and skills

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge:

  • T-SQL fundamentals
  • Any experience of SQL databases
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Previous exposure to SSMS
  • Previous use of Visual Studio/SSDT (desirable)
  • Experience of Microsoft Dynamics CRM (desirable)
  • Exposure to BI tools such as Tableau, Alteryx or PowerBI (desirable)
  • Previous experience of working in the sector would be advantageous
