A Chef De Partie can also be known as a station or section chef and if you begin working as a Chef De Partie you’ll have a very important role in any kitchen. In this role you’d usually manage a small team which must be managed effectively to ensure dishes are served on time and your working areas remain safe and orderly. In a smaller organisation you could be working independently as the only person in your section but usually you’d be reporting in to a senior Chef.


There’s no formal entry requirements for you to start this apprenticeship but different employers will set their own requirements.


This apprenticeship will last at least 12 months, but will usually be around 18 months.


After completing your apprenticeship you would expect to be moving in to a senior culinary chef role.


You’ll be studying a level 3 apprenticeship standard
