Tim Lewis at The Guardian* recently reported on ‘The Great British Chef Shortage’ as the hospitality industry faces serious skills shortages for chefs and waiters. With a hospitality industry bolstered by the work of foreign nationals, Brexit could have a catastrophic effect on the availability of trained staff in these much-needed roles.
Experts say we’re currently living in a golden age for eating out in Britain; never before has such a high quality of food been so widely available. However, this boom is threatened by a chronic shortage of the staff to service these restaurants.
So this is the time to become the saviour of the industry! Why not train existing or new potential colleagues into both kitchen and front of house roles?.
Remit works with some big names in the industry, such as Compass Group, Nandos, wagamama, Bella Italia and Cafe Rouge, and this year we have helped to create more Chefs than ever.
What’s more, Remit can offer access to Government funding for adults to support with plugging skills gaps in the Hospitality sector. If you’d like to know more, get in touch with Remit today on firstname.lastname@example.org.
