Employers recruiting an apprentice aged 16–18, or an eligible apprentice aged 19–24 with an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan or care-experienced background, may qualify for a £1,000 employer payment. This funding is available for both new recruits and eligible existing employees beginning an apprenticeship.
Employers recruiting eligible young people aged 18–24 who have been claiming Universal Credit may be able to access the Youth Jobs Grant, worth up to £3,000. This funding helps businesses create new apprenticeship opportunities while supporting more young people into sustainable employment.
Small and medium-sized businesses that do not pay the Apprenticeship Levy could be eligible for a £2,000 hiring incentive when recruiting eligible apprentices aged 16–24.
